The lawyer of municipal deputy Alexei Gorinov, convicted of spreading “fakes” about the Russian army, spoke about the deterioration of his client’s health. His message was published in the telegram channel “Freedom for Alexei Gorinov!”
Today a lawyer came to IK-2 in Pokrov to visit Gorinov. The defender was kept waiting in a cold room for almost the whole day and was allowed to see his client half an hour before the end of the working day.
“According to the lawyer, Alexey is in very poor health. Skin color is blue. Alexey doesn’t even have the strength to sit on a chair and talk. Several times he practically fell. The lawyer drew the attention of the operational officers to the state of health of his client, and he was told that “all necessary assistance is being provided,” says a statement from the Mundep’s support group.
Gorinov told the lawyer that he had active bronchitis, fever and constant chills. He added that it was difficult for him to breathe and that the premises of the colony were very cold.
“The medicines that Alexey had with him during the transfer were taken away and are not being given out. Alexey seeks medical help. The doctor comes, takes the temperature, says “temperature 36.7, no treatment required and leaves,” noted the support group. They added that Gorinov has a chronic lung disease, and that in 2016 he underwent surgery to remove part of one of them.
On July 8, 2022, a court in Moscow sentenced 60-year-old Gorinov to seven years in prison under the article on disseminating “fakes” about the Russian army (Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason was that he called what was happening in Ukraine a war and said that Ukrainian children were dying in this war. The politician repeatedly complained that he was not provided with medical care in the colony.
In October , it became known that a new criminal case was opened against Gorinov for justifying terrorism (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). The reason was his conversations with his cellmates about “committing a terrorist act on the Crimean Bridge” and “the activities of the Azov terrorist organization.” Security officials claim that these conversations contain “psychological and linguistic signs of justification for terrorism.”
