The UN Security Council has once again failed to adopt a resolution regarding the war in the Gaza Strip. Reuters reports this.
The draft resolution was prepared by the United Arab Emirates. He, in particular, assumed an immediate ceasefire.
The resolution was not adopted due to the US veto. Great Britain abstained, while the remaining 13 members of the Security Council voted in favor.
A US representative called the resolution “unbalanced” and “out of touch with reality.” He noted that an immediate ceasefire would only “sow the seeds of a new war,” since Hamas is not really seeking peace.
