Deputy director of the Bryansk gymnasium where the shooting took place was detained

The deputy director of Bryansk gymnasium No. 5, where the school shooting took place on December 7, Larisa Katolikova, was detained. She is suspected of negligence, writes RIA Novosti, citing a source.

According to him, Katolikova was charged under the article of negligence resulting in the death of two or more persons (part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code). The maximum penalty under this article is seven years in prison.

According to investigators, Katolikova’s negligent actions led to the fact that a 14-year-old eighth-grader was able to go to school with a weapon and shoot her classmates, writes Baza.

After the shooting at the Bryansk gymnasium, it was officially announced that a criminal case had been opened for murder. The prosecutor's office also opened a case of negligence due to the absence of a metal detector frame at the entrance to the gymnasium.

At the same time, the Baza telegram channel claims that two criminal cases were opened against the father of the shooting schoolgirl, Dmitry Afanaskin. One is about violating the rules for storing weapons. The second is under the article on incitement to suicide.

On December 7, an eighth-grade student at Bryansk gymnasium No. 5, Alina Afanaskina, brought a hunting rifle that belonged to her father to school and opened fire on the students, killing one schoolgirl and wounding five more people. After this, Alina committed suicide.
