The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk deprived two Russians of citizenship for "evasion of military duty." The police drew attention to men as part of the illegal migrant operation. Now they will have to leave Russia.

Two brothers 21 and 24 years old came to Russia from the Near Abroad. The Ministry of Internal Affairs accuses them of allegedly providing incorrect information to the migration service in order to "do not carry a military duty." Now they are obliged to leave the country or will be deported.

Earlier, the metropolitan Investigative Committee said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs was sent to decisions of the courts to deprive the citizenship of seven convicts. According to Mediazons, since 2017, more than a hundred people have been deprived of citizenship. This process, nevertheless, accelerated after the outbreak of war. In the spring of 2023, the list of grounds for deprivation of citizenship was expanded. Deprivation of citizenship is directly prohibited by the Russian constitution.
