The Insider: Companies from eleven countries export goods needed for weapons production to Russia during the war

Companies from eleven countries, despite sanctions, export to Russia equipment and goods necessary for the production of tanks and other weapons. This is stated in the investigation of The Insider .

According to the publication, the Uralagonzavod enterprise installs the Sosna-U sight on its T-90M Proryv tanks. The optics are produced by the Vologda Optical-Mechanical Plant (VOMZ) on lathes, spare parts for which are produced by the Italian company MTSRL .

According to investigators, VOMZ has another supplier associated with Italy - the St. Petersburg company Pumori-North-West. During the war, it continued to buy equipment and machine parts from companies in Bergamo, Bologna, Milan and Trezzano sul Naviglio in Lombardy.

According to investigators, goods for Pumori-North-West are delivered to St. Petersburg from Europe by Estonian logistics companies Gold Solution OU and Leolart.com. Another company from this Baltic country, Alekon OU, stores this equipment in its warehouses.

In addition, as The Insider writes, the Estonian companies Sumar Tools OU and Elsorel OU supply goods of their own production to companies that are part of Rostec or associated with the state corporation.

The company UAB Elfanta from neighboring Lithuania, according to journalists, is involved in the supply of Austrian components for machines used by the Ural Unimatic. Before liquidation, the Latvian company Baltic Machinery supplied O-rings, couplings and other goods to Unimatic. The Ural company, investigators emphasize, is involved in the creation of tank guns and artillery.

In addition, according to The Insider, Igor Fishelev , the father of the nominal owner of Unimatik, received British citizenship in 2022. Four years earlier, he transferred shares of the plant to his son Oleg.

Parts for lathes operating at Russian defense enterprises are supplied by the German company WTO Werkzeug-Einrichtungen GmbH. Another company from Germany, Oxapa GmbH, supplied glass to the Microoptika enterprise in November last year. This, as investigators note, is one of Rostec’s leading partners, a contractor for the FSB and the Ministry of Defense.

According to The Insider, companies from South Korea, Japan, Serbia, the USA and Finland are directly or indirectly connected with Russian military factories. The company Meconet OY, located in the vicinity of Helsinki, supplies copper tape and parts of semiconductor devices to the company TD Proton-Electrotex, which cooperates with Rostec, Almaz-Antey and Tactical Missile Weapons.
