The Tagansky District Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 4.6 billion rubles on the Google LLC corporation under the article on repeated failure to delete prohibited information (Part 5 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code). Interfax reports this.
The reason for the fine was the search engine’s refusal to remove from search results information about Russia’s war against Ukraine, content related to the LGBTQ community, as well as certain “materials of an extremist nature.”
Earlier in the same month, the corporation was fined 4 million rubles under the article on failure to comply with an order to identify and delete information at the request of executive authorities ( Article 19.7.10-4 of the Administrative Code).
