In St. Petersburg, the incidence of influenza, coronavirus and acute respiratory viral infections sharply increased. Over the past month, according to the city department of Rospotrebnadzor, the number of sick SARS and influenza in the northern capital increased by 119% among adults and 65% among children, and Covid-19 (including adults and children) by 62.5%.
Accordingly, the load on the Petersburg ambulance station has increased (the time of arrival of medical brigades for calls has now increased by half) and city hospitals taking patients with influenza and Covid. According to the city health care committee, the number of hospitalized with various viral infections increased by 25% compared to the previous week.
-According to December 22, the number of patients under medical supervision in St. Petersburg, taking into account all patients with pneumonia, suspicion of Covid-19 and other SARS, is 44,064 people, the press service of the city healthcare committee told. - For patients with Covid and pneumonia in St. Petersburg hospitals, 2799 beds are deployed. To date, about 10%are free of them. Although on Monday, December 18, 18.5% of the beds were free.
As the “new” found out, in some hospitals-the Botkin, Alexander, Elizabethan, Pokrovskaya, Mariinsky, taking patients with Covid-19, pneumonia and complicated influenza-now there are really vacant places.

“The most severe patients are coming to us,” said Sergey Zabirov, head physician of the hospital. -With Covid-19, with viral pneumonia, with bacterial. There are patients with mixed pneumonia. There are patients who primarily suffer from severe forms of influenza or coronavirus, but without pneumonia. One way or another the last month, the hospital is filled constantly - there are no free places at all. We can accept a new patient only if someone is raising and freeing the bed.
The Health Committee noted that the issue of deploying new beds in St. Petersburg hospitals for the diseased influenza and Covid and those in need of hospitalization will be considered in Smolny next week.
Meanwhile, from December 21, the St. Petersburg Rospotrebnadzor again introduced a mask regime in St. Petersburg, so far in medical institutions and at mass events. In hospitals and clinics, masks are required for everyone, at events - for the organizers and their employees.
Also, the chief sanitary doctor of St. Petersburg Natalia Bashkova regulated distance learning in schools for classes, where there are many sick SARSs. Classes where the number of cases exceeds 20% in acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and covid are transferred to a distant for a week. If in a group or class of two students, community -acquired pneumonia is diagnosed, then they suspend work for up to 10 days. If there are more than ten patients, then the work of the entire educational institution is suspended for the same period.
