The Central Election Commission did not allow Duntsova to collect signatures

At a meeting, the Russian Central Election Commission unanimously voted to refuse to register Ekaterina Duntsova’s initiative group for the presidential elections in Russia. The Election Commission found 100 errors in her documents.

According to CEC member Yevgeny Shevchenko, the notary certified the documents incorrectly—he indicated the wrong passport number for the organizer of the initiative group meeting. The minutes of the meeting, according to the commission, were prepared after the meeting itself. This does not allow us to establish the exact size of the group. Almost 20% of the initiative group have discrepancies in the application for registration of the group and the notarized protocol.

“Ekaterina Sergeevna, you are a young woman, you still have everything ahead of you. Any minus can always be turned into a plus. Any experience is still experience,” said Ella Pamfilova at the end of the meeting.

The broadcast from the Central Election Commission was cut off several times when the commission read out the violations committed by the notary Duntsova. Registration of the initiative group was supposed to take place on December 22 at 15:00, but was postponed to Saturday, December 23. As Duntsova reported, after the refusal she would not have time to hold a second meeting.
