Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin on the capture of the city of Marinka in the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces denied this.

“In the course of active offensive operations, the assault detachments of the Yuzhnaya group today completely liberated the village of Maryinka, which is five kilometers southwest of Donetsk,” Shoigu said.

Putin thanked the Minister of Defense and said that the liberation of Marinka “pushes the enemy away from Donetsk and allows the Russian Armed Forces to enter operational space,” quoted him as saying. TASS

The speaker of the Tauride Defense Forces, Alexander Shtupun, said on the telethon that the battle for Marinka continues. “Now our military is within the administrative boundaries of Marinka, but the city is completely destroyed. It is incorrect to talk about the complete capture of Marinka,” he said (quoted by RBC Ukraine).
