The ex-head of Navalny’s headquarters in Tomsk and her lawyer became ill during the trial, and an ambulance was called for them. The judge refused to adjourn the hearing

The former head of Navalny's headquarters in Tomsk, Ksenia Fadeeva, and her lawyer became ill during a court hearing, and an ambulance was called for them. Despite this, judge Dmitry Khudyakov refused to postpone the consideration of the case, according to Fadeeva’s support group.

“Judge Khudyakov insists on holding the hearing from morning until late at night, 12 hours a day. Ksenia has been under escort since early morning, she is deprived of the opportunity to eat and rest. She cannot defend herself in court [...] The court is pushing ahead and at the same time the defense is denying requests for questioning even of those who appeared in court!” wrote Fadeeva’s associates.

They added that the ex-head of Navalny’s headquarters in Tomsk spends most of the day in court and in a convoy between the court and the pre-trial detention center. She has no access to hot food and can neither rest nor prepare for meetings.

Fadeeva’s lawyers twice challenged Judge Khudyakov, but he refused. “Judge Khudyakov seems to have observed the practice of mocking the defendant in the case of Sasha Skochilenko,” says Fadeeva’s support group. Previously, Skochilenko was not allowed to eat for several days in a row due to the court schedule.

Ksenia Fadeeva is accused of “organizing an extremist community” (Part 2 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code) and participation in an NGO that infringes on the rights of citizens (Part 3 of Article 239 of the Criminal Code). The activist was detained in 2021, and in December she was banned from certain actions. In October 2023, the activist’s preventive measure was changed to house arrest, writes OVD-Info. Soon after this, the judge considered that Fadeeva had violated one of the prohibitions and sent her to a pre-trial detention center.

In 2020, Ksenia Fadeeva won elections to the City Duma.
