Felix Eliseev, also known under the pseudonym Rumata Estorsky, was detained by Russian security forces in December 2022. He was accused of justifying terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). In April 2023, a second criminal case was opened against Eliseev under the same article. This time he was accused of approving an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on an oil depot in the Belgorod region. The reason was a post in which Eliseev wrote: “Beating an aggressor on his territory is good, I immediately remember the bombing of Berlin by Soviet aircraft in August 1941.”
Later, Eliseev’s charges were tightened, and a case of “treason” was opened against him . According to security officials, he transferred funds in cryptocurrency to a citizen of Ukraine, which were then used to equip Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.
Lipetsk media published a video with Eliseev’s confessions. He himself, in letters from the pre-trial detention center, complained about the difficult conditions of detention and pressure from the security forces.
