The publishing house "Eksmo" was fined 900 thousand rubles for the comic book "Dove Gennady"

The Zelenogradsky District Court of Moscow imposed a fine on the Eksmo publishing house on charges of “LGBT propaganda” in the comic book “Gennady the Dove.” This follows from the case materials published on the website of the capital’s courts of general jurisdiction.

The court hearing took place on December 27. The publishing house was fined under Part 1 of Article 6.21 of the Administrative Code (“Propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations”).

The text of the resolution has not yet been published, but the court told RIA Novosti that the publishing house was fined 900 thousand rubles.

The protocol against the publishing house was drawn up after a statement by deputy Alexander Khinshtein. According to Beware Media, the reason for this was the description of the main character: “Sometimes instincts take over Gennady. Pigeons do not always distinguish each other's sexes. Therefore, Gennady prefers to think that he is pansexual,” noted Ksenia Sobchak in her Telegram channel.

Eksmo General Director Evgeny Kapyev said that the book has not been sold for a long time: “This is a comic book about real pigeons. There was one picture, and someone didn’t like the phrase. I don’t remember now what it was. But the comic has long been discontinued. Why we have any complaints is completely unclear!”
