The Latvian regulator has blocked access to Yandex resources

The National Electronic Media Council of Latvia (NEPLP) has blocked access to all resources related to Yandex. The Yandex.Music streaming service will be blocked in the near future for distributing content from persons subject to sanctions, said the head of the regulator, Ivars Abolins.

In April last year, NEPLP blocked the website yandex.ru in Latvia. Access to domain names or Internet protocol addresses of this site, as well as to duplicate Yandex sites, was also limited. Last March, Latvia revoked the license of Yandex Taxi BV and blocked the Yandex Go application. The country's motor transport directorate noted that the data of local residents and foreigners using Yandex services may be at the disposal of the Russian authorities.
