The girl flies to Paris. She inflicts makeup, folds things in a suitcase, passes an inspection, puts a mask on the eyes of an airplane and eats oysters with her feet. She does not have both hands, and this does not stop her at all. This is the plot of the video "Nothing to Declare", which was released by the American group MGMT. The song will enter the first in six years album of the Loss of Life group, which will be released in February 2024.
The main role in the video was played by 24-year-old Inga Petri, born in Russia. In childhood, her mother refused her, and her parents were adopted from the USA. Now she leads Instagram and Tiktok , in which she talks about life with disabilities. The girl shows how she holds cutlery, writes and makes makeup with her feet. In addition, Inga knows how to play cello with his feet. She has more than 100 thousand subscribers who support Inga, call her bold, smart and amazing.
Inga herself does not believe that her possibilities are limited by something. “I can do everything with my feet. Right now I am holding the phone in my foot, ” says Petri on one of the video. Inga never wore prostheses: at first the family had no money on them, and then she realized that she would be inconvenient for her.
Inga was born in Novosibirsk in 1999 with the congenital aplasia of the upper extremities. Her mother abandoned her daughter in the hospital, but two years later Inga was adopted by US citizens Daniel and Jennifer Petri from Atlanta. Inge was lucky: she found her parents before in 2012 the State Duma adopted the "Law of Dima Yakovlev", which forbids US citizens to adopt Russian children (and at the end of 2023, deputies proposed to extend the ban on all foreigners in countries where a transgender transition was allowed). Inga has become one of the six children in a believing family of an accountant and a music teacher.
Aplasia is a congenital vice of development, in which the child completely or partially does not have an organ or part of the body.
“My mother spends her whole life, working tirelessly for her six children. Mom and dad, you showed me more love than most people see in your entire life. Thank you for choosing me when no one else could, and then gave me the most beautiful life that I could ever dream of. It is thanks to you both that I can go to college in New York on my own and I have skills and desire to work hard and achieve success, ” said Inga.
Now the girl graduated from college and received a lawyer diploma at the University of Pittsburgh.
After the publication of articles in Russian media, Inga was found by her mother. She turned out to be a resident of Novosibirsk, who has three more children. The woman said that Inga's father threw her before the birth of a child.
“There was no one to wait for support from. Relatives and doctors repeated: abandon her, what can you give her? So I wrote refused, and then foreigners adopted it, took it to the United States. All these years I sobbed, prayed that she would not be allowed to the organs, so that she had a good life, ” said Inga's mother. According to Novosibirsk journalists, she recently began to communicate with her daughter on social networks.
In the fall of 2023, Inga Petri found breast cancer of the third stage. Now the girl publishes a video in her tiktok in which she talks about her well -being and mood. Subscribers actively support INGU comments:
"We pray for you."
"You don't need a wig, you are always beautiful."
"We wish you all the best, you will defeat it."
In an interview, after the clip release for the song “Nothing to Declare”, Inga said that the video partially repeats her biography.
“In a sense, the story of Venus Miloskaya always seemed like my life, especially the character I play in the video. She is admired and people are almost constantly surrounded by people, but still she is lonely, and her past is unknown. Regarding her hands, questions always arose, and she never had to answer or prove her value. From my point of view, she has nothing to declare, ”says Inga.
At the time of filming, Petri already knew about her diagnosis and says that the diagnosis changed her life - she became a different person. She had to postpone many plans and goals in order to focus on the fight against cancer. Inga also draws parallels with the heroine of her clip: she “has nothing to declare,” because she began a new chapter of life in which the main thing is to defeat the disease.
