In the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg, a major fire occurred at a Wildberries warehouse. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire was localized to an area of 70 thousand square meters, reports RIA Novosti . There were no injuries, the fire was classified as the highest level of complexity.
The cause of the fire was not officially reported. However, RBC, citing a source, writes that arson is being considered as a preliminary version.
In turn, the Shot telegram channel reports that the fire started early in the morning during a shift change between night and day employees. At that moment there were at least a thousand people in the warehouse.
As RBC notes , on January 10, a mass fight took place near this warehouse, after which a 33-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan, a Wildberries employee, was hospitalized with stab wounds. Over the next two days, security forces carried out raids at the warehouse.
Numerous videos of the fire have circulated online. It is especially clearly visible from aircraft landing at St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport. It is also reported that smoke from the fire spread to neighboring areas of St. Petersburg.
