The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched strikes in Iraqi Kurdistan near the city of Erbil. This was reported by Iranian state media, Reuters reports.
In reports, the IRGC claims that the attack was carried out on “spy centers” and “places where anti-Iranian terrorist groups gather.”
Reuters sources said the explosions were heard 40 kilometers northeast of Erbil, in the area where the American consulate is located. The buildings related to the diplomatic mission were not damaged.
ABC News, citing a source in the Iraqi security forces , reports that eight targets were attacked near the American consulate.
According to Reuters and ABC News, four people were killed as a result of the strikes. Erbil airport was closed.
