Tinder announced its withdrawal from Belarus

The dating app Tinder will stop working in Belarus from February 15. This is reported on the service website.

It is noted that after February 15, users from Belarus will not be able to log into their accounts. However, the company stated that paid subscriptions will not be renewed automatically. Those who paid for the service for six months or a year will be able to request a refund. The reasons for leaving the service are not reported.

At the end of June 2023, Tinder stopped working in Russia. Then a representative of Friends Fiduciary Corp, a shareholder of Match Group, said that the departure of the service is directly related to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In mid-November 2022, a 29-year-old girl was detained in Minsk for photos on Tinder with a white-red-white flag. A criminal case was opened against her for active participation in “group actions that grossly violate public order” (Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
