Americanist Alexandra Filippenko on the YouTube channel “On Two Chairs” says :

“The phenomenon of the INF Treaty (Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles - Polit.Ru) is that it eliminated an entire class of missiles altogether. That is, they not only went for reductions, but they went for the destruction of missiles. The USSR and the USA destroyed 2,700 medium-range missiles. And, of course, thanks to the softening of this position, the softening of the position of both the Soviet Union and the United States, this was achieved.

The INF Treaty, despite the fact that the United States withdrew from it in 2019, it still remains, surprisingly, some kind of pillar of world security. And at least it seems that the spirit of this agreement is still somehow present.”
