Holy Martyr Mikhail Gorbunov

Mikhail Gorbunov - a peasant son from the village of Seliverstovo, Slavkhonsky district of the Yaroslavl province. He served as a psalmist, and then a deacon in the temple in the village of Rakobol. In 1923, the 45-year-old Mikhail Gorbunov was ordained a priest to the Spasskaya Church of the village of SPAST-YURNEVSKOY OF POSHESHONSH DIRECTION.

By 1935, almost all temples in the area were closed by the authorities, and Father Mikhail settled at his brother in the village of Seliverstovo. He earned that he walked around the villages and was engaged in the repair of hours and household items.

On October 12, 1937 he was arrested on charges of counter -revolutionary activity, "Shatania in the villages for the purpose of anti -Soviet agitation and participation in the rebel organization." On the same day, the priest was questioned.

The interrogations were completed on this. On October 15, the Troika of the NKVD sentenced Father Mikhail to eight years in the correctional labor camp. On October 23, 1937, the priest, along with the Yaroslavl stage, arrived in Kulalag.

He died on March 7, 1938 in the Kulask forced labor camp in the Arkhangelsk region and was buried in an unknown grave.
