The Ukrainian minister said that a drone produced in Ukraine hit a target in St. Petersburg, flying 1,250 kilometers

The Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Alexander Kamyshin, said that the drone that attacked St. Petersburg on the night of January 18 was made in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Facts”.

“We are capable of producing something that will cost anywhere from $350 a piece to something that will fly to St. Petersburg that night. This is made in Ukraine. So, this night we hit the target, and this thing flew exactly 1,250 kilometers this night,” the minister said during the Deciding your tomorrow discussion in Davos.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported earlier that on the night of January 18, air defense systems intercepted an aircraft-type drone over the territory of the Leningrad Region. The wreckage of an intercepted drone was found on the territory of an oil terminal in St. Petersburg. One of the owners of the oil terminal thanked the Russian military “for the brilliant work of the air defense.” Authorities in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region said that no one was injured.

Ukrainian media reported, citing sources, that the attack on St. Petersburg was organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. An RBC-Ukraine interlocutor in the intelligence services claims that the Ukrainian military confirmed hits on targets.
