A court in Bashkortostan arrested two students of the Ufa Fuel and Energy College Vilnur and Gaziz for 15 days. RusNews reports this.
It is not specified what article they were charged with. The young people were detained today: about 15 security officers came to the college and began checking the students’ phones.
Eyewitnesses connect the incident with the public gathering that took place the day before in support of the defender of the Kushtau Shikhan, Fail Alsynov.
The court sentenced Alsynov to four years in a general regime colony - this is a more severe punishment than the prosecutor requested. After the verdict was announced, arrests and clashes between the activist’s supporters and security forces began. It was reported that 40 people were injured during the protests.
17:10 The Kirovsky District Court of Ufa arrested local resident Salavat Idelbaev for 14 days. This was reported by OVD-Info lawyer Aidar Khyzyrov, who represented Idelbaev in court.
The man was found guilty under the article on participation in an uncoordinated public event that resulted in disruption of the movement of pedestrians and vehicles (Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The activist was detained on January 15, but after questioning he was released. On January 17, Idelbaev was detained again and taken to one of the Ufa police departments, where the man was left overnight.
During the consideration of the administrative case, the judge refused several requests from the defense: to postpone the hearing to familiarize themselves with the case materials, to call the prosecutor and to include a disc with video from the scene of events.
On January 19, a court in Bashkortostan ordered administrative arrests for nine more people detained at the court in Baymak on January 17. This was reported by SOTAvision. In total, according to journalists, 17 participants of the national gathering are under arrest.

On January 21 , RusNews reports that more than 30 people seen at the protests in Baymak were detained and taken to Ufa.
Relatives of one of the detainees named Dim Davletkildin told reporters that he came on a summons for questioning by the Baymak police department. From there he and about 36 other people were taken to Ufa. There is currently no contact with them. Davletkildin's house was searched in his absence.
Local residents also told RusNews that a bus was driving through the neighboring village of Temyasovo, where the men caught in the video from the rally in Baymak were being rudely dragged. They also visited the residents of the village of Ishmurzino, where a public gathering also took place.
The website of the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa published information about 27 administrative cases (for January 20) under the article on disobedience to the legal demands of police officers. All defendants were found guilty and were likely given administrative arrests.
On January 22, the Sovetsky District Court of Ufa arrested Yuldash Timerbaev for nine days, finding him guilty of violating the established procedure for organizing or holding a public event without filing a notification in the prescribed manner (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). According to the court, Timerbaev posted a publication on the Alga Bashkortostan telegram channel with a call to go to Salavat Yulaev Square on January 19.

Back on January 16, before the announcement of the verdict to Fail Alsynov, unknown people tried to enter the apartment of Ildar Yumagulov and a RusNews correspondent, claiming that they were police officers.
On January 26, the Sterlitamak City Court fined Shikhan Kushtau’s defender Ramis Telyapkulov three thousand rubles after a spontaneous gathering in support of Fail Alsynov in Baymak. He wrote about this on his VKontakte page.
Telyapkulov was found guilty under the article of disobedience to the demands of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code). Telyapkulov’s interests were represented by OVD-Info lawyer Nikita Sorokin.

He was released that same day, but the next day he was summoned to the police department, from where he was taken to the Baymak City Court. The man was found guilty under the article on participation in an uncoordinated public action that resulted in disruption of the movement of pedestrians and vehicles (Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), due to the fact that he allegedly shouted slogans during the protest - while his son claims that this not true. According to him, his father was present at the gathering, but did nothing of the kind. The arrested person has cancer, he received the third group of disability, which was confirmed by a medical commission, but the court did not take this into account when assigning the punishment.
