Apple paid an antitrust fine in Russia in the amount of 1,177,988,700 rubles. This was reported by the Federal Antimonopoly Service. The money has already entered the Russian budget.
In July 2022, the FAS accused Apple of abusing its dominant position in the product market (Part 2 of Article 14.31 of the Administrative Code). The service noted that the company prohibited application developers from informing customers that payments could be made outside the App Store. Otherwise, the company did not allow app creators onto its platform.
In October 2023, Apple finally allowed developers to build into applications for iOS and iPadOS the ability to pay for purchases through other payment systems. At the same time, the company decided that for purchases paid through third-party services, it will charge a commission of 27%. The standard is 30%.
In February 2023, the company paid Russia a fine of 906 million rubles for violating antitrust laws at the request of Kaspersky Lab.
