The vocalist and author of the songs of the songs of the Markscheider Kunst group Sergey Efremenko died in the Pokrovskoye Hospital of St. Petersburg, Fontanka reports with reference to the director of the group Denis Rachkov. Sergei Efremenko was 51 years old. On January 23, he was supposed to be 52 years old. The causes of his death are not specified.
According to Rachkov, Efremenko had felt bad since December. The musician’s close to the musician writes “Fontanka”, they said that he endured malaise on his feet and began to engage in health only recently.
The Markscheider Kunst group appeared in St. Petersburg in 1992. “Having begun in 1992 with Rockabilli music, in the middle of the decade, Markscheider Kunst began to pursue a policy of popularizing Latin American, Yamaisky and generally ethnic music, introducing such words as SKA, Kumbia, Reggae, Afrogite, Kvass-Kvas, Merenga and Bossov,” the group said.
The last two concerts of Markscheider Kunst were held on January 19 and 21, 2024 in St. Petersburg. The concert on January 19 at the Factory 3 club was dedicated to Efremenko's birthday. On January 21, the group performed at the Douglas bar along with the Tres Muchachos & Compaňeros project.
Two more concerts were scheduled for January 26 and 27 in Moscow.
