A case was opened against a 32-year-old resident of Smolensk for calls for terrorism via the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) due to statements in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the telegram channel “NO to extremism!” associated with the security forces.
The reason for the prosecution was publications “justifying the methods of warfare of the Ukrainian military, who attacked the region with the help of UAVs, despite the threat to the civilian population,” as well as posts about the crimes of the Russian military in Ukraine. In addition, the Smolensk resident is charged with certain “posts and photographs inciting terrorist activities.”
