The Tagansky District Court fined the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace 400 thousand rubles under the article on the lack of marking as a “foreign agent” (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). This was reported by the press service of the city courts.
The organization was added to the register of “foreign agents” in April 2023. A year earlier, the Moscow Center of the Foundation ceased its work: this was due to the decision of the Ministry of Justice to close the Russian representative offices of 15 international and foreign organizations.

In addition, Vladimir Putin signed a law on imprisonment for a term of up to five years for “foreign agents” who were brought to justice twice in a year for violating the procedure for the activities of a “foreign agent” (Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code).
