Bashkir activist Dim Davletkildin, detained because of the gathering in Baymak, is in hospital in serious condition after being beaten by security forces. The activist's relatives reported this.
“We managed to obtain official documents from the hospital where Dim is currently staying. The documents strictly confirm that he was severely beaten by security forces, and was also forced to testify under pressure,” they wrote in the Davletkildin support telegram channel.
On January 21, the man was charged with participation in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code), and on the 22nd he was placed in custody.
As Davletkildin’s wife, Yulia, previously reported , on January 19, five riot police officers and two investigators came to their house. Since her husband was at work, they asked her questions, invited him to the police department to talk and left. On January 20, when Davletkildin came to the department, he was detained and, along with other detainees, taken to Ufa, but he was not given a summons. On the same day, the activist’s home was searched without witnesses, even small children were interrogated. One of the riot police officers knew the password to Davletkildin’s phone and unlocked it in front of investigators.
