Mobile operators will be required to terminate contracts with customers if they do not use the number for 90 days or more

The government has adopted new rules for the provision of cellular communication services, according to which, from September 1, operators will be required to terminate contracts with customers unilaterally if the number is not used for 90 days or more. The document appeared on the legal information portal.

“The absence of use of communication services by the subscriber during the period established in the contract, but not less than 90 calendar days, is recognized as conclusive actions aimed at terminating the contract at the initiative of the subscriber,” the resolution says.

Accordingly, the operator must choose a period, but not less than 90 calendar days, after which it will consider that if the client does not use the number issued to him, he wants to terminate the contract. The resolution also states: “The subscriber has the right to unilaterally terminate the contract at any time.”

Previously, the rules did not have such a clause, and each operator independently chose whether to disconnect a subscriber from a number, and under what conditions.

The innovations will affect the section of the document on the procedure and conditions for suspending the provision of telephone services, changes and termination of the contract.
