The body of a resident of Bashkortostan, who was detained after a rally in support of Alsynov, was identified by relatives. They were not told the cause of death

Relatives of Rifat Dautov, detained in Bashkortostan, identified his body. this His sister Zalia Akhmadieva reported on her VKontakte page. Dautov was detained after a rally in support of activist Fail Alsynov. He died, presumably, in a paddy wagon.

Earlier, Akhmadieva wrote that a local police officer came to see Dautov in Ufa. He was interested in whether he participated in any actions. “My brother did not participate anywhere, the only thing was that on the day when they were gathering at the television center, he was waiting for a girl,” says Akhmadieva.

A rally in support of convicted activist Fail Alsynov took place on January 19 in Ufa on Salavat Yulaev Square. According to Akhmadieva, Dautov was in the area for about 20 minutes “when nothing had started yet.”

She said that on January 25, in the Zianchurinsky district, Dautov was detained by riot police and “taken away in an unknown direction.” The next day, “a man from the village council” came to the man’s parents and said that forensic experts from Ufa were looking for Rifat Dautov’s relatives.

Akhmadieva said that she immediately went to the morgue, but was not allowed there. She was told that the body could only be identified in the presence of a police officer or investigator. At the same time, according to the girl, she was never able to find out the name of the investigator, whose presence was necessary.

“The only thing I want is to know the cause of my brother’s death. I don't encourage anyone to go out. I’m not calling for a riot,” Dautova’s sister said in the video she posted.

At the same time, the Texas Khabirova telegram channel published a video with testimony allegedly from witnesses to Dautov’s death. They allegedly turned out to be other detainees who were traveling with him in the same paddy wagon.

Some of them, answering leading questions, stated that before his death, Dautov allegedly “barely stood on his feet,” was “as if drunk,” he was vomiting, and then he “stopped breathing.” In turn, Akhmadieva emphasizes that her brother did not drink and was healthy.

On January 17, the Baymaksky District Court sentenced activist Fail Alsynov to four years in a general regime colony on charges of inciting hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Thousands of people came to court to support him. Security forces tried to disperse the crowd using tear gas and batons. And then criminal cases were opened regarding mass riots and the use of violence against government officials.
