The Russian government supported a bill prohibiting employers to dismiss widows of war participants in Ukraine within a year after the death of a soldier.
At the same time, the deceased must have the status of a war veteran. The widow will not be subject to the law if, within a year after the death of the spouse, it will marry again.
The status of a war veteran is now entitled to almost all participants in the so -called "special military operation" in Ukraine. The exception is, for example, members of volunteer formations created not by decision of state authorities.
It is noted that in the review of the Cabinet of Ministers to a new bill it is proposed to extend similar support measures to husbands of women-military personnel, dead and recognized veterans of military operations-in order to prevent "discrimination on the sexual basis."
