Camille Valiev was disqualified for four years for doping

The Russian skater Kamil Valiev was disqualified for four years for doping. This decision was made by the sports arbitration court. It will be considered disqualified from December 25, 2021, and all medals won from this day can be reset.

The skater passed the doping test in December 2021. It found a substance of trimetasidine, which is used in violation of the heart. It is used as doping - it is believed that the drug can improve blood circulation and endurance.

Valieva’s defense in court stated that the forbidden drug was part of the medicine of her grandfather, and as a result, the so -called household pollution occurred. However, lawyers could not explain how the drug came into the body of the skater.

The results of Valieva’s test became known during the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, which took place from February 4 to 20. The results of the athlete became known on February 8 - after she won the gold medal in team competitions. Russia can be deprived of this medal, the decision on this should be made by the International Union of Hibilities or the International Olympic Committee.

By decision of the sports arbitration court, Valieva will lose the gold of the European-2022 championship and the gold of the Russian Championship-2022.

Kamile Valieva is 17 years old. In modern female figure skating, this age is considered a peak of a sports career, and the “pension” due to the extreme injury of this sport occurs with Russian skaters in 19-21. For example, in 2023-2024, Valery Shulskaya and Anna Shcherbakova completed his career. Both were 19 years old. Last year, 17-year-old Daria Usacheva also announced the end of his career.
