In the Altai Territory, polling stations for the presidential elections will be named after participants in the war in Ukraine. The corresponding message was published in the official telegram channel of the Biysk city administration.
It notes that this initiative is a joint development of the regional election commission and the local branch of the Russian Military Historical Society.
“Now our guys are conducting a “special military operation”, the whole country is trying to help them. Of course, the Altai Territory is no exception. In whatever forms we try to perpetuate our heroic history, this must be done,” said the head of the Altai branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, Yuri Proskurin.
As the Biysky Rabochiy newspaper notes , in the Altai Territory there are already 105 polling stations named after famous people.
Presidential elections will be held in Russia on March 15-17, 2024. As previously reported, voting is planned to be held, including in Ukrainian territories occupied during the war.
