Ukraine expects to receive 18 billion euros from the EU in 2024 - Zelensky

The leaders of the European Union during the summit on February 1 approved the allocation for Ukraine 50 billion euros as part of the UKRaine Facility program. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on this decision, said that Ukraine expects to receive 18 billion euros from the EU in the first year.

"Now it is important that the distribution of these funds occurs by analogy with the previous support format: the first two tranches - 18 billion euros per year, and then the state stability will be greater," Zelensky said.

According to him, the teams of Ukraine and the European Union will soon work out this issue. Thanks to the long -term program for support from the EU, Ukrainians have financial guarantees for social stability.

"Europe demonstrated precisely the unity that is needed. 27 countries - together. Institutions of the European Union - in full interaction. This is a clear signal to Moscow that Europe will stand and that Europe will not break any destructive waves that they come up with in the Kremlin," the head of state emphasized.

Zelensky also added that the decision to provide Ukraine with 50 billion euros is “this is also a clear signal through the Atlantic that Europe is taking obligations. We are waiting for America’s decision.”
