
Polish farmers announced a new action on the border with Ukraine. They stated that they were dissatisfied with the decisions of the European Commission in Ukraine, according to the web site of the Farmers of the Farmers "Solidarity".
On January 31, the trade union unanimously adopted the decision to announce the universal strike of farmers across the country, which will begin with the blockade of all border crossings between Poland and Ukraine, as well as the blockade of roads and motorways in separate governors from 10:00 on February 9, 2024.
" Our patience was bursting. The position of Brussels on the last day of January 2024 is unacceptable for the entire agricultural community. In addition, the passivity of the Polish authorities and the declaration of cooperation with the European Commission and the application for compliance with all its decisions regarding the import of agricultural products and food from Ukraine do not leave us other choice, except to declare universal strike ," the said in message.
According to representatives of the trade union, the Polish government should have a clear plan of agricultural production, profitability of production, restoration of Polish processing and Polish trade.
" We will fight for this to the end. Polish family farms are the basis of the country's food security ," the trade union said.
The strike of farmers will last until March 10.
On November 6, 2023, Polish carriers began strikes on the border with Ukraine, demanding to return the passage system for Ukrainian carriers.
On January 6, the Polish farmers stopped blocking the Medic-Shegini point, and the movement of the trucks was resumed.
On January 17, 2024, the Polish government signed an agreement with carriers to unlock the border with Ukraine. As part of the agreement, the parties agreed to suspend protests at the entrances to three checkpoints on the border until March 1.
