More than 60 printing houses in various regions of Russia refused to print a newspaper with the election campaign of the presidential candidate from the Civil Initiative party, Boris Nadezhdin. This was reported by 7x7 and Novaya Gazeta Europe , citing sources at the politician’s headquarters.
According to sources, the politician’s headquarters paid a printing house in Moscow about 4.5 million rubles for a circulation of 2.5 million copies of campaign newspapers. However, they were denied printing and the money was returned, citing an order from “above.”
Subsequently, several dozen more printing houses in Moscow, the Moscow region, Voronezh and Nizhny Novgorod refused to print the edition. Most referred to high workload or the inability to complete the order on time, but some directly stated that they would not print for Nadezhdin.
