The court in St. Petersburg on February 5 sentenced the Karelian student Andrei Vasyurenko to nine years in prison, the first two and a half years he will have to spend in prison, the remainder of the term in a maximum security colony. Vasyurenko was accused of declining to terrorist activities Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code and preparation for incitement for state Part 1 of Article 30, part 4 of Article 33 of Article 275 of the Criminal Code - the transition to the side of Ukraine.

Vasyurenko has been in jail since March 2023, at the time of his arrest he was 18 years old. According to investigators, Vasyurenko tried to persuade the Russians: OK to take part in the war on the side of Ukraine, but to no avail. According to the observations of the human rights project “First Department”, this is the first well -known case for incitement to this form of state receptions.

• In March 2023, an 18-year-old student from Astrakhan Andrei Vasyurenko was arrested on charges of "inciting to the Stateizer." The security forces claimed that he proposed entering the Ukrainian army to participate in the war. According to RBC, Vasyurenko spoke out for the independence of Karelia from Russia.

• In May in Vladikavkaz, 19-year-old student of Yekaterinburg Nikita Menshov was arrested . According to special services, he expressed a desire to join the Ukrainian army and tried to go to Georgia to meet there with a representative: Nice of the Armed Forces.
