Rosfinmonitoring added the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, to the list of extremists and terrorists. This is evidenced by the registry data.
The register also noted that Budanov was “involved in terrorism.”
In mid-December 2023, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put the head of Ukrainian intelligence on the wanted list. Prior to this, the Investigative Committee of Russia accused in absentia the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nikolai Oleshchuk, the commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces Alexei Neizhpapa and the commander of the 383rd separate regiment of remotely controlled aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force Sergei Burdenyuk of terrorism. The reason for initiating a criminal case was the attacks of Ukrainian drones on Russian territory.
