Residents of Udmurtia on the evening of February 7 published recordings on social networks showing high flames of fire caused by the explosion. The authors of the video admitted that the explosion occurred at the Votkinsk plant test site in the village of Yagul, located 12 kilometers from Izhevsk.

The Unified Duty Dispatch Service of the Zavyalovsky District of Udmurtia told TASS that they had received a request from the Votkinsk plant. “There was a test of rocket engines. This is not an emergency, a planned [event],” said the agency’s interlocutor.

• The Votkinsk plant produces military and civilian products. The plant produces Iskander-M operational-tactical missiles, Topol-M and Yars strategic missiles, and Bulava sea-based missiles. The plant also dismantles some missiles removed from combat duty.
