SF approved the confiscation of property in a number of political articles
The Federation Council on Wednesday approved a bill on confiscation of property at convicts in a number of articles under which opponents of the invasion of Ukraine are undergoing criminal prosecution. It is reported that the decision was made without votes against - as in the State Duma, which approved the bill last week. The document will enter into force when it is signed by President Vladimir Putin.
The bill lists several articles. Among them, the spread of the so -called fakes about the Russian army, desertion, failure to fulfill the order, participation in an undesirable organization, as well as "public calls directed against the security of the state." Most of these articles were added to the Criminal Code or tightened after Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The bill also provides for the deprivation of convicts under the indicated articles of honorary titles.
According to the chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, the decision, "will punish those who are engaged in activities against their country - to deprive these villains of honorary titles, as well as confiscate their property, money and other values."
Earlier in the same spirit, a deputy from the LDPR Andrei Lugovoi spoke out. “Anyone who tries to damage the homeland will lose everything and will die there, outside our country, like the last dog,” he explained the meaning of the bill.
At the same time, the Criminal Code provides that only the property received as a result of the commission of the crime or used for its commission can be confiscated.
