Residents of Udmurtia report a powerful explosion in the military training ground

Residents of the city of Votkinsk in Udmurtia on Wednesday evening reported a powerful explosion near the city. They posted their videos on the local channels on social networks, on which a noticeably high flame that arose after the explosion.

Further, in some telegram channels there were reports that the explosion was caused by technical work at the Votkinsk Machine-Building Plant. The authors of these channels refer to the regional service of the Ministry of Emergencies. In the official channel of the Ministry of Emergencies on Udmurtia at the time of publication, there were no such explanations.

The Telegram channel "Base" writes with reference to the source that some tests at the Votkinsk factory were the cause of the explosion. The Unified dispatching service of the Zavyalovsky district of the Udmurtia TASS reported that the explosion occurred during planned testing of missile engines.

There are no details from official sources and information about the victims yet.

The Votkinsk plant is located 50 kilometers from the capital of Udmurtia Izhevsk. He produces artillery missiles, including strategic ballistic missiles for Topol-M and Iskander complexes. At the end of 2023, the Votkinsk plant published 19 state contracts for the production of components of nuclear weapons. The factory operates a testing ground.
