The Tagansky District Court of Moscow today received protocols against seven participants in the register of “foreign agents,” Mediazona noted.
We are talking about economist Sergei Guriev , entrepreneur and philanthropist Boris Zimin , ex-deputies Gennady Gudkov and Konstantin Borov , journalist Gleb Pyanykh , TV presenter Andrei Karaulov and lawyer Anatoly Fursov .
In all cases, the reason was complaints about the status of “foreign agent” in publications (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code).
Two administrative fines for “foreign agents” that came into force during the year make it possible to initiate a criminal case against a person for a new similar reason (Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code).
For most of the participants in the register of “foreign agents” listed in the news, this is the first protocol, except for Boris Zimin and Andrei Fursov. In November 2023, Boris Zimin was given two fines of 30 thousand rubles each. once Fursov was fined in February 2024.
As showed an analysis by Mediazona , from the second half of 2023, the number of protocols drawn up against participants in the register of “foreign agents” began to increase sharply. In addition to Roskomnadzor, the Ministry of Justice began to actively compile them. By January 2024, the number of people with at least two administrative fines reached 93.
