Fontanka: explosives were found at the aluminum alloy plant in St. Petersburg

An “orphan object” that turned out to be an explosive was found on the territory of an industrial zone in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg, Interfax reports , citing the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

RBC also reported about the explosives found in the St. Petersburg industrial zone with reference to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The industrial zone in question is located on the road to Petro-Slavyanka, 5.

In connection with the discovery of explosives, a criminal case was opened under the article on illegal trafficking in weapons and ammunition (Article 222 of the Criminal Code). It is not reported whether there are any persons involved in the case.

Earlier, the local publication 78.ru, without citing sources , reported that a homemade explosive device with a capacity of two kilograms was found at a metallurgical plant in St. Petersburg, lying in a plastic bag. The device contained tetryl explosive and a built-in incendiary tube. The bomb was hidden next to a storage room and was defused. The address of the metallurgical plant is not given in the message.

Fontanka writes that an explosive device was found on the territory of the Vsevolozhsk aluminum alloy plant in Rybatskoye on the evening of February 9 (the road to Petro-Slavyanka, 5 is located in the same area). The publication clarifies that the found package contained almost two kilograms of explosives.

The plant's website states that it is "a leading Russian manufacturer of secondary aluminum alloys"
