In Tambov, Penza and Tolyatti, concerts of the group “Slot”, which was included in the list of “banned” artists published by Meduza, were canceled

The Slot group announced on its Instagram the cancellation of concerts in Tambov, Penza and Tolyatti “due to circumstances beyond the reasonable capabilities of the venues, the group, and the organizer.”

“All money for tickets sold will be returned to spectators in the near future. On our own behalf, we want to say that every concert that we had with you is priceless! We hug everyone who has our music in their heads, and we know that nothing can destroy this connection,” the group said in a statement.

The exact reasons for the cancellation of events are unknown. The concerts were supposed to take place on February 15 in Tambov, on the 17th in Penza, and on the 18th in Tolyatti. Previously, Slot was included in the list of “banned” artists published by Meduza on February 8.

Shortly after the publication of the list of “banned” musicians, were removed four performers mentioned in the Meduza material from the lineup of the Wild Mint festival. Later it also became known that the performance of the black metal band “Put”, also mentioned in the list, was canceled twice in Moscow.

As drew attention SOTA , the members of “Slot” did not directly speak out against the war in Ukraine; previously the group was also included in the “Peacemaker” list for performances in the annexed Crimea. At the same time, even before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Slot members spoke out on political topics - for example, Slot vocalist Daria Stavrovich in 2019 supported protesters opposing the construction of a landfill in Shies.
