The director of the holding Sobchak was given 7.5 years in a maximum security colony

The court in Moscow sentenced Kirill Sukhanov, the commercial director of "Caution, Media" Ksenia Sobchak, by seven and a half years in a maximum security colony in the case of extortion on an especially large scale. It is reported by Kommersant.

Two other accused - the former editor -in -chief of the Russian version of Tatler magazine Arian Romanovsky and former Life journalist Tamerlan Bigaev - received seven years of maximum security colony.

Earlier, the prosecutor requested seven and a half years of the colony for them, and eight for Sukhanov.

The case was opened at the request of the head of the Rostec state corporation Sergei Chemezov.

Sukhanov, according to investigators, allegedly demanded 11 million rubles in Chemezov for the removal of negative materials about him in the Telegram channel “Stew Light”. Bigaev was an administrator of this channel, and Romanovsky made materials for him.

Ksenia Sobchak first called the case “the rally for the last free editorial office in Russia,” but later apologized to Chemezov for the “actions of colleagues”.

Commenting on the verdict to her colleagues, Sobchak wrote in her telegram channel “Bloody lady”: “No words. This is not just injustice. This is much more. I have completed everything, all the agreements to be softened. Why do you break life to people? 7.5 years ????? What is such disproportion ???? just take revenge?”

• The case against the director and authors of the telegram channel “Stew Light” stands in a number of several other similar cases of extortion among officials and businessmen who have been excited against journalists over the past two years. So, in 2022, the police detained the host of the Hell's Babka blog Alexander Bayazitov and former administrators of the Telegram channels "Scanner" and Riddle Alexei Slobodenyuk, Evgeny Moskvin and Vladislav Malushenko. All of them have already been sentenced. Bayazitova gave five years a colony of general regime. The top manager of the Promsvyazbank Alexander Ushakov, and three administrators were sentenced to eight years in a strict security colony of allegedly for extortion of 470 thousand rubles from the director for special instructions of Rostec and the husband of TV presenter Tina Kandelaki Vasily Brovko.
