Former member of the Yabloko party Mikhail Sharygin was detained in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the telegram channel “Operational Reports”, a case was opened against him for participation in the activities of an extremist organization (Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code).

In the publication of the telegram channel, Sharygin is called a supporter of the headquarters of Alexei Navalny. He, the security officials believe, tried to involve other people in the organization “in order to destabilize the socio-political situation on the eve of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation in 2024, at the direction of the leadership of anti-Russian centers from abroad.”

The reason was a comment under the news about the illegal construction of a hotel near residential buildings.
