Recall that the trials in the case of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya were held twice. SK called the first suspects already in 2008. Then the defendants were in the bench:

• Jabrail and Ibrahim Makhmudovs, they followed Anna;

• former employee of the Organized Crime Control Department Sergey Khadzhikurbanov, who transferred the “order” and helped with the outer from the police;

• The FSB officer Pavel Ryaguzov, who was charged not by the murder of Politkovskaya, but several episodes of extortion along with Khadzhikurbanov, although they suspected the subject of complicity of murder.

The investigation was hasty and unconvincing. On February 19, 2009, the jury collegium justified everyone. When later, after the process, we in the editorial office of Novyu asked for the jury why they made such a decision, they answered extremely frankly: “We understood that they were involved, but they were not killers, and there was almost no evidence. And if we find them guilty now, no one will look for real killers. ” And, in general, they were right.

Until the next process, which began in September 2013, the investigation corrected the mistakes and greatly advanced to the goal. The alleged killer was arrested - Rustam Makhmudov. During the time that he was on the federal wanted list, the killer was able to get a passport for another name and go abroad. And they detained him in a parental house in Chechnya. And it is clear that neither a passport nor arrest would be possible without the help of Chechen security officials. The second important point is the evidence of the prosecution in the first process, the Lieutenant Colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov now became the accused. He made a deal with the investigation and pleaded guilty that he was one of the organizers of the murder. His case was considered separately, without studying evidence. The court gave him 11 years in colony, he spent most of the term in the prison hospital.

On the second attempt on June 9, 2014, all five people who were in the dock were found guilty of the murder of Novaya Gazeta observer.

It was Sergey Khadzhikurbanov - he was given 20 years in a colony, last year he discovered on his own as a volunteer.

The second person involved is the criminal authority of Lom ali Gaitukaev, it was he who received an order to kill a journalist with Pavlyuchenkov. And the other three are the nephews of Gaitukaev: the brothers Rustam, Dzhabrail and Ibrahim Makhmudov. According to the investigation proven in court, the eldest, Rustam, was directly a killer, and Jabrail and Ibrahim followed Anna’s car, brought the killer to her house and back, were “on the patch”.

Rustam Makhmudov and Lom-Ali Gaitukaev was given life, Ibrahim received 12 years in colony (the jury considered that he was the only one deserves condescending), Dzhabrail Makhmudov received 14 years of strict regime (in June 2015, the Supreme Court reduced the period of up to 13 years and 9 months, considering the episode with the transfer of weapons-everything occurred in the car, but everything occurred in the car, but everything took place in the car Jabrail was not there at that moment).

For five years that have passed between the courts, Jabrail’s lawyers did not come up with any new defense line. He still claimed that he did not remember that it was October 7, 2006, that his brother called up every half an hour and cannot say why his phone is recorded in the area of ​​Lesnaya Street, and in the car where the killer drives to the place of murder, is full of his fingerprints. By the way, Murad Murad Musaev defended Dzhabrail, by the way, one of the strongest (and expensive) Chechen lawyers, and the family did not pay for his services. Subsequently, due to the threat of a criminal case, Musaev left Russia and is now defending the people of Rohing in international courts.

The verdict to all the accused of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya was carried out in June 2014, and the term of detention for Dzhabrail is considered from the day of repeated arrest-from September 2, 2013. Thus, having blocked all the time in the pre -trial detention center, Dzhabrail Makhmudov was supposed to be released on November 28, 2025. And now - parole.

However, Chechen justice is such justice that this decision on parole was pure formality. According to the same decision, on June 17, 2022, the Naursky District Court of the Chechen Republic decided to replace an unfortunate part of the punishment with enforcement work for a period of 3 years 5 months 9 days with the retention of 10% of the salary in state revenue.

What does it really look like?

The correctional center is like a colony, but rather a colony-settlement. The convict can move freely, live with his family, have a phone. And for good behavior and with the permission of the head of the center, he can even live at home.

And there is such a defendant, for example, a janitor. He lives at home, goes to work (and often does not go), and from his official salary of 10 thousand rubles transferred to the state 100 rubles. But, as stated in the document, "firmly embarked on the path of correction." By the way, he does not admit guilt.

Judging by the resolution, the assistant prosecutor of the Sheikh-Mansurovsky district opposed Udo: during the investigation and being in the pre-trial detention center, Makhmudov has 38 violations of the regime, in the Tula colony he received five penalties and set off three times in a schizo. However, here rather the question is how to replace an unsentic part of punishment with such a light forced labor with such a bouquet. And so. Moreover, the victims learned about such a “procedure” only from the court decision.

According to the law, you can ask UDO (and here 105 h. 2 p. “B”, “F”, “h” - “murder for hiring a group of persons”), after serving two -thirds. And if you count from September 2013,

The deadline was suitable in the fall of 2022. With so many penalties, this was hardly possible. Therefore, at first, Jabrail was transferred to a colony in the Chechen Republic, where the court replaced the unsuitable term forced labor. And forced labor was not canceled by parole.

In 2022, the victims in the case by Ilya and the faith of the Politkovsky notified that the convicted Makhmudov would submit to Udo. The victims sent their objections to the court - they are against it. On the eve of the current meeting, Vera and Ilya Politkovsky also received a notification that on February 8, the court would consider the request for the defense of liberation. On January 17, the victims again answered the court - they are against it.

Another curious moment. The court ruling states that at the time of filing a petition on October 10, 2023, the convicted Makhmudov completely paid off the payments to the victims in the civil lawsuit in the amount of 600,000 rubles. This is cunning, if not a lie. Translations were carried out in parts, at the end of December 2023 and February 1, 2024, a week before the court (confirmation are available in the editorial office).

There is now only one member of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya - Killer Rustam Makhmudov behind bars.
