In 2015, Dmitry Markov became one of three photographers in the world to receive a grant from one of the largest photo agencies on the planet, Getty Images. During his career, he has released two photo albums - “Draft” (2017) and “Russia Squared” (2021).

Markov’s most famous work is a security officer sitting in front of a portrait of Putin. He made it at the Moscow police department when Markov was detained during protests in support of Alexei Navalny in February 2021. Later the photographer sold it for 2 million rubles.
