The leader of the party who won the Netherlands criticized Ukrainian refugees

The chairman of the Right Party of Freedom, which won the parliamentary elections in the Netherlands in 2023, wrote on Twitter that Ukrainian refugees came to the Netherlands for free housing and jobs, and not because they are saved from the war.

" Ukrainians are flowing to the Netherlands from all over the EU - not because of the war, but because of free housing, free health care and our jobs ," he wrote.

Wilders also added that because of this, " the Netherlands again became a village fool of Europe ."

In his post, the politician reacted to an article in the Dutch newspaper Telegraaf, which quoted the message of the Dutch central point of registration of Ukrainian refugees that its capabilities have reached the limit.

The local official told the newspaper that this happened mainly due to the influx of Ukrainian men coming from other EU member countries in search of work, medical care or reunification with the family.

The resigned, Prime Minister Mark Rutte, said the support of the Netherlands to Ukraine is guaranteed in the long term, since Wilders will not be able to find a single coalition partner ready to support his proposal to reduce the volume of assistance.

According to the Eurostat, since the beginning of the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine, the Netherlands provided temporary protection for about 145 thousand Ukrainian refugees.
