The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained an agent of Russian intelligence, which prepared a missile blow by rail and military hospitals in the Cherkasy region. It turned out to be a 45-year-old native of the Luhansk region. This is stated in the message of the SBU.

According to the agency, the main task of the attacker was to identify nodal railway stations involved in the transfer of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces) to the front.

Also, Russian intelligence hoped to receive accurate coordinates of warehouses with the weapons and ammunition of Ukrainian troops. In addition, intelligence was interested in the locations of military hospitals, where wounded military personnel of defense forces undergo treatment. It was planned to use the information received for rocket and cronch blows to Ukrainian facilities.

According to the SBU, the defendant is a 45-year-old native of the Luhansk region, who in April 2022 moved to the Cherkasy region as a migrant from eastern Ukraine. At the beginning of this year, he was remotely recruited by the representative of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Russian intelligence attracted a man to cooperate through his acquaintance - a militant of the occupation group of Russia, which is deployed in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of the Luhansk region. For each completed task, the agent received money.

Investigators informed the attacker about suspicion of Part 2 of Art. 111 Criminal Code. He faces a lifelong conclusion.
