The reason for the death of Alexei Navalny on February 16 In the colony of the Special Regime "Polar Wolf" has not yet been established. The authorities are silent, the propaganda media translate the "preliminary" causes of the death of the political prisoner, do not betray his body to his relatives. Navalny’s mother recorded a video message to President Putin on Tuesday, demanding that she give her a son’s body so that she could bury him.
Thousands of people have already signed a petition to provide the widow and family of Alexei Navalny from video cameras of the IK-3 employees, on which attempts to provide him with medical care on February 16, 2024 and resuscitation measures were recorded.
Subscribe to Instagram , Telegram and YouTube of the North Real. There we publish content that is not on the site!Representatives of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported yesterday to lawyers and mother Alexei Navalny that the body of Alexei Navalny, who died in the colony, was sent for a chemical examination, which would last 14 days. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of Colonel General to the first deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service Valery Boyarieva, follows from the decree published on the official portal of legal information and dated February 19. It is known that Boyariev gave orders to restrict Navalny's rights. So, at a court hearing in July 2023, it turned out that he sent to colony No. 6 in the Vladimir region, where Navalny was serving the deadline, the order to limit the amount for which he could buy food in prison.
How long can the authorities not give the body to his family? The correspondent of the North. Realiy talked about this with human rights activists, a forensic expert and a doctor who worked with Alexei Navalny in Omsk after poisoning in 2020.
On the morning of February 19, the mother of Alexei Navalny Lyudmila Navalny, accompanied by lawyers, unsuccessfully tried to get into the morgue of Salekhard. Employees of the institution did not miss anyone inside, but to the question where the body of the politician is located, they refused to answer. The Investigative Committee, which conducts a pre -investigation of the death of the political prisoner, was informed that the deadlines for the end of the audit were unknown. According to the former member of the Moscow Public Supervisory Commission, the former-analysis of the capital's UFSIN Anna Karetnikova, this is regular practice, and now only the investigator can decide on the issuance of the body to relatives.
- If death occurs at the place of imprisonment: a colony, an investigative isolator or in a prison, then the institutions and management of the FSIN are required to immediately notify the police and investigating authorities. And from this moment, everything is in their competence, not in the competence of the Federal Service. This investigators decide whether an audit is assigned or not assigned whether a criminal case is initiated or not initiated, ”the human rights activist explains.
However, she is convinced that in this particular case, the procedural decision was made not by local law enforcement and investigative authorities, but by officials at least at the level of the presidential administration.
The former member of the Moscow PMS, the executive director of the Human Rights Center “Memorial” Anastasia Garina says that forensic medical study is prescribed in all cases when it comes to the death of a person in places of forced detention-even if he is homeless, who has no relatives at all. So the current decision of the investigating authorities is fully consistent with the current practice.
- In no case do I want to say that there is no pressure on the loved ones to Alexei Navalny and that the Kremlin is not involved in this pressure - there are no questions here. The question is different. The fact that only on the basis of non -giving the body cannot be said that egregious violations of Russian legislation occur, ”explains Garina. -As long as a forensic research is conducted and its results have not been obtained, this is a widespread practice. If there is a pre-investigation check and a forensic medical study is assigned, then the situation when the body is given to relatives is more an exception than the rule.

The introduction of such a norm is justified, for example, in the case of a murder committed on household grounds by the closest relatives. If the investigation gives them the body of the deceased, they will have the opportunity to hide traces of the crime. That is why, in rare cases, the investigator has the right to even prohibit the relatives of the deceased with a violent death cremation so that there is an opportunity to exhumer the remains and, if necessary, conduct a second examination.
- Of course, the current legal norms should take into account the feelings of relatives and their desire to stern and timely say goodbye to the deceased, which is not happening now. But simply to oblige the investigation in any case to give the body at their request, ”she says. - Another thing is that there are special situations. For example, when a person died in the territory controlled by the state: in a pre -trial detention center, colony or military unit. In this case, it is strange to suspect relatives of the desire to conceal evidence, because it is obvious that they cannot have a relationship to such death. But the relatives themselves have a clear fear that the state in the person of its bodies may try to hide its own guilt in the death of a person.
At the moment, more than 65 thousand people have already sent an appeal compiled by the OVD-Info project in the RF IC in the name of its head Alexander Bastrykin with a demand to authorize the issuance of Navalny’s body to relatives. But the current Russian law of Bastrykin and his subordinates does not oblige to this.
- You can petition the attraction of independent experts. But I would say that these are such well -wishes. Because I did not hear this-so that they would take it and for some reason allow the study of an independent expert. They often demand this, but I have never heard of positive results in my practice, ”says Karetnikova. -Of course, this can be a way to hide something. Because in the dead body there are irreversible processes, and all evidence [of a possible crime] gradually disappears.
According to the human rights activist, if the inspectors are confident that the death was natural and no rude errors were made (for example, a person had the fifth stage of HIV and he received the necessary medical care), then they may not initiate. This is exactly what happens in civilian medicine: when a person dies from chronic diseases or other logical causes, even autopsy is not produced, the body is immediately transported to the morgue. But if there are any doubts, then an examination is assigned, and if necessary, check if a crime was committed.
In the very first hours after the publication of the news of the death of Alexei Navalny, reports about the “torn thrombus” as a “natural” cause of the death of a politician appeared on the propaganda Russian media resources. According to his anesthetist, Alexander Polopan (he was part of the consultation, who worked with Alexei Navalny in Omsk after poisoning in 2020), this version does not withstand criticism. There was no official conclusion from doctors in this regard, but what is replicated in the propaganda media with reference to their "sources" is nothing more than a stuffing.

In addition, the diagnosis of "pulmonary artery thromboembolism" can be suspected only on the basis of a specific clinical picture, which includes, for example, cyanosis of the cervical-high zone and characteristic changes in hemodynamics. However, it is not possible to identify such symptoms posthumously. As for the intravital diagnosis, he would require hardware research (echocardiography or pulmonoangiography), which are done only in the hospital.
- Theoretically, thromboembolism is a condition that anyone can happen. Another question is that in the absence of certain risk factors, the probability of this is extremely small. There is a category of patients who are predisposed to thromboembolism: these are patients with prolonged immobilization, with pelvic injuries and lower extremities, disorders of the hemostasis system, with cancer, and so on. Alexei did not have any of these states, - Polun Pan states. - After unsuccessful resuscitation measures, doctors could only state death. Therefore, all versions that are voiced before the autopsy are not based and unlawful.
The doctor compares the information bustle around the death of Navalny with what was happening after the poisoning of the politician "novice" in the summer of 2020. Then the doctors of the Omsk hospital insisted on "metabolic disorders" and broadcast in the media exclusively the information about the condition of their patient who descended from the Ministry of Health. And the propagandists talked about the glycemic crisis and the lack of "Raphael" in the body of Navalny. At the same time, according to Polopan, it seemed that someone in the hospital was informed that Alexei had been poisoned with a phosphoruscorganic compound. Therefore, the rule was carefully observed so that everyone who approaches the patient is put on disposable robes and dumped them when leaving the resuscitation. This was disguised as anti -like measures, although, most likely, it was done in order not to accidentally smash a poisoning agent.
-At some point, information slipped that a substance that posed a threat to others was revealed. But the transport police who informed the transport police immediately took somewhere, we did not see it anymore, and we could no longer find out what was being discussed. It looks that doctors were specially taken away from the version with poisoning so that no one makes this information public. The same thing now. If we proceed from the assumption that the death of Alexei could be a murder, now, apparently, there are events aimed at ensuring that none of the forensic experts who may suddenly be loyal team of Navalny, then could not throw them on a “black box” of detailed and truthful information with the results of the autopsy, the doctor said.
According to the current legislation, the bodies of died, regardless of the causes of death, after pathological procedures, and, if necessary, forensic studies should be issued to relatives. The only exception is the corps of terrorists who were killed during the detention in the process of performing terrorist activities.
- We have a law on the failure of the bodies of terrorists. Most often in the North Caucasus, this practice has been applied and applied so far - that the corpses of "liquidated" terrorists are not given to relatives. But this cannot concern Alexei Navalny. Firstly, because he has “extremist” articles, and not “terrorist”, and secondly, because he still died during the execution of a terrorist act, but was at the disposal of the Federal Penitentiary Service, ”Anna Karenikova warns.
However, there are other deviations from a common procedural norm for all for all. In the practice of the St. Petersburg PMC there was a case when the body of a person who died in conclusion was not given to relatives for a long time. And then they gave out - in a closed and brewed metal coffin, not allowing the relatives to even look at the body of a loved one, in the natural death of which there were reasonable doubts. No less than in the case of death in the pre -trial detention center of Chelyabinsk in 2020 of the Nationalist Maxim "Tesak" Martsinkevich, on the body of which multiple injuries were discovered, which he could not cause to himself.
“The story of Martsinkevich, whom I overshadowed for some time in a pre-trial detention center, seems to me monstrous,” says Karetnikova. - The terrible details were described there: that he was beaten, raped, dusty to death. Since his body was not given to relatives, it is difficult to even say where these details came from. Perhaps the FSIN doctors sold them to reporters for money, as usual, to tell the truth, and is happening. But one way or another, all this did not get much publicity. Perhaps, in view of the personality of Maxim himself, everything that was on this matter was somehow "gone into the sand."

According to Alexander Polopan, the authorities will do everything possible in order to take a maximum of the course of the forensic research. And for this, they will first be removed from studying the body of Navalny to local forensic experts - either sending their own, or taking the body for an indefinite period to the center.
- Naturally, no one wants to devote ordinary specialists who work in Salekhard or Harpe to the details of this event (where, most likely, an autopsy will be carried out). I think that if we consider this death as a murder, then some special people should be opened. And how much time they will need for this, they will send someone there or deliver the body to Moscow-these are already details, ”says the doctor of Alexei Navalny.
The deadline for pre -investigation on the occasion of human death is up to 30 days. Moreover, as a rule, the autopsy is carried out in the shortest possible time, and the next few weeks go to additional studies of individual tissues of the corpse and compiling a long and detailed report by the forensic expert. However, it happens that the study does not fit in these terms or the expert is difficult with conclusions. In this case, the procedure can be delayed, and with it a pre -investigation check. If doubts remain after the study, the investigation can prescribe additional tests - and then the case will drag on for another months. However, then the college of forensic experts will study the results of the first expert - and they do not need the body of the deceased.
“It will be an egregious case if the body of Navalny is not given after receiving the results of the first study, this contradicts the prevailing practice,” says Anastasia Garina. - There should be no arbitrariness of the Investigative Committee, and the possibility of restricting the rights of citizens should be narrowed as much as possible and brought into line with reasonable criteria. I believe that if the state were interested in developing the legislation in the direction of protecting the interests of citizens, it would be worth prescribing a procedure that gives more powers to the loved ones in such cases, because the history of Navalny is far from unique.
The forensic expert with a large experience says that in practice the autopsy is carried out the next day, and after 24–48 hours the corpse should already be ready to issue relatives.
“Experts no longer need the body, everything that is necessary for research, they have already scored in jars,” he explains. - I practically have no doubt that in the end in the column "cause of death" will be written I24.8 (according to the international classification, this is a sudden cardiac arrest). The premises will be called coronary failure or coronary heart disease, which could develop against a background of prolonged stress. The fact that Navalny allegedly died due to a thrombus or thromboembolism was simply lied by journalists, because in this case the picture of development is always clear and clear and visible at the autopsy (a version about a torn thrombus appeared in the very first hours after the death of Navalny in the pro-government media, when there was no autopsy.-SR ).
According to the forensic expert, if Navalny was poisoned in the colony, then it will be almost impossible to prove it now.
-The body has already been subjected to putrefactive changes, traces of the same "beginner" or something from this series now cannot be found. If he was poisoned with rat poison (10 g is enough to kill a person), then his traces remain in the body for up to two weeks, he continues. - If we assume that Navalny was killed in a colony by a point impact in the heart, neck or solar plexus (such blows can give a cardiac arrest and they are owned by special services), then traces can be saved up to 14 days, provided that the corpse does not rot much, sometimes traces can be detected under a microscope for up to 30 days. Therefore, if relatives and associates of Navalny want an independent examination and send the body, for example, to Germany, they need to achieve this immediately, otherwise they will not find anything.
Russian medical experts themselves will not go to a clear forgery, according to the interlocutor of the North. Realiy.
- They will not go to gross falsification, because the body will still be given to their relatives and there will be a new examination, everyone understands this. The body for better preservation should be at a zero temperature - minus one, but it can be kept warm, for example, in the corridor, all the employees of the morgue will plug the mouth, and it will simply lie and rot. Well, then Putin can make a beautiful gesture and allow him to take it to Germany, ”the expert suggests.
