Open letters against hostilities in Ukraine were published by Russian architects and city builders, designers and illustrators.
Architects and urban builders consider the advance of Russian troops to the territory of Ukraine unacceptable. In their letter they declare:
“Foreign policy issues should be resolved exclusively peacefully! War cannot be a policy of politics in the 21st century.
The war depreciates the very essence of the activity of the architect and the urban planner, in which country he is. It violates the rights of people: to life, safety, self -realization, a comfortable and healthy environment - all the values that are the basis of our activity.
The respect of neighbors cannot be conquered by force or destruction. But it can be earned by arranging his own country, his own house.
No war! "
“War is aggression, destruction, selfishness and discontinuation. Military operations are ruining fate and breaking human ties. This contradicts the essence of our creative activity - the design of communication. Our work is designed to unite people and improve their lives, ”Russian designers and illustrators write. Their letter, in particular, says:
“There is no excuse for this war. War is fear, poverty and despair. There can be no development in such an environment. The isolation of Russia from the world will lead to cultural and economic degradation, the outflow of talented designers, illustrators and other professionals.
We are for honesty, openness and attentiveness to people! We are against any war, especially the war with Ukraine. Our colleagues, friends and relatives live in Ukraine. Ukraine does not pose a threat to the security of our country. The war against her is unfair and meaningless. We do not want our colleagues and friends to kill in Ukraine. We want to live with them, create and create in the world. Participating in the war, we destroy this connection.
We fully support the sovereignty of Ukraine, which is held at the work of democratic institutions. We believe that the Ukrainian people can independently solve all their internal problems and conflicts without the intervention of the Russian army. We demand the respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state. We demand peace for our countries!
Stop the war! "
